1. Commitment to Privacy
At Dental Abroad Pty Ltd, we are committed to protecting your personal information and ensuring that all patient data is handled securely, ethically, and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
We collect, store, and use your information only for the purposes of coordinating your dental treatment, travel arrangements, and post-care support through our accredited international providers.
2. Collection of Information
We collect personal and health information directly from you when you:
Complete an enquiry or quotation form;
Provide medical or dental history relevant to treatment planning;
Upload photographs, X-rays, or other diagnostic files; or
Communicate with our team via email, WhatsApp, or online channels.
This information helps us assess your suitability for treatment, coordinate appointments, and liaise with your chosen dental provider overseas.
3. Use of SmileCloud for Secure Data Transfer
To protect your medical information, Dental Abroad utilises SmileCloud — a secure, encrypted platform used by dental professionals globally for the storage and transfer of clinical records, including images, 3D scans, and treatment plans.
SmileCloud implements end-to-end encryption, GDPR compliance, and industry-standard security protocols to ensure that all patient data is transferred safely between Dental Abroad, our accredited providers, and (where applicable) your treating dentist in Australia.
Dental Abroad does not host patient records on public servers, nor do we disclose your data to third parties without your consent, except as required by law.
4. Data Storage and Retention
All patient data managed by Dental Abroad is stored on secure, Australian-based servers, with restricted access granted only to authorised personnel.
Records are retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected or as required by law.
5. Access and Correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you at any time and may ask for corrections if any details are inaccurate or incomplete. Please contact us at ricky@dentalabroad.com.au to submit such requests.
6. International Data Disclosure
When coordinating treatment overseas, your relevant medical and dental information will be securely shared with your chosen provider in the Kingdom of Thailand, Republic of Indonesia, or other approved jurisdictions. All transfers are conducted in accordance with Australian privacy obligations and our internal data security policies.
